Quizás no lo sepáis pero existe
este evento, WWKIPD y tiene lugar entre la segunda y la tercera semana del mes de junio…Ya que se trata de un evento
internacional, tiene lugar a lo largo de todo el planeta, los aficionados se juntan tanto en la calle
como en su café favorito para tejer en grupo.
Se dice que la primera reunión de este evento tuvo lugar en 2005, de la mano de Danielle Landes, en Los Ángeles (California), como muestra de que tejer no es una “cosa de abuelitas”. En los últimos años este evento se ha alargado una semana más para que la gente tenga tiempo de poder organizar su propio evento.
No sólo va dirigido a personas que tejan a dos agujas si no a cualquier amante del arte de tejer, dos agujas, ganchillo, bolillos, frivolité…
Apuntes: el primer año sólo había 20 localidades organizándolo, en 2008 se celebraron más de 200 eventos y el año pasado se alcanzaron los 1.000!!!.

You may don´t know that this event exists and that it takes place between the second and the thirth week in the month of june... As it is an intenational event, it is celebrated all over the world. The fans of knitting get together, in the streets or even in their favorite cafés, to knit in group.
It is said that the first meeting took place in 2005, Danielle Landes was the first one who organized this event, in Los Angeles (California), she did it to show people that knitting wasn´t a grandma´s thing. This event has enlarged one more week in the last years so the fans would find it easier to put a date to their own knitting event.
Every knit lover can participate in this event , not only the ones who knit but also those who like crochet, frivolité...
Notes: the first year only 20 locations participated, in 2008 over 200 events were celebrated and the last year more than 1000 events worldwide!!!.
